My Haintly Blues

A Collage Monoprint

My Haintly Blues is a piece that is a homage to the blue hues seen on and within black southern porches, ceilings, and homes, aptly titled haint blue. I created this piece to mimic a black grandmother’s wallpaper and the ecological elements to relfect the land from which this hue comes alive. There are several blue hues and shades that combine with the shine of mica powder to honor this blue that’s believed to keep us safe and is historically sacred.
